Grand Teton National Park – detailed drive
Since I was transferred to the Jackson Visitor Center I thought I better get a far more detailed view of Grand Teton National Park so I stopped at every single thing that I haven’t stopped at on previous trips. The day started out stormy, cleared to glorious and ended with monsoonal rain when driving out of Jackson.
I downloaded the Gypsy guide tour for Grand Teton and listened to it all day. I really recommend these tours if they are offered for a location you’re visiting.
I took 150 pictures and whittled it down to the following.
I stopped at Liberty Burger in Jackson since I hadn’t eaten since 6:00 am. This was at 5:00 pm and I was starved. I had the unexpected treat of talking throughout dinner with Zach, a young man who has high hopes of a future protecting public lands. He was an intelligent, well-spoken, interesting young man who is about to take a couple months off to explore Asia. It was an awesome way to end an incredibly beautiful day. Thank you Zach.

I was lucky enough to see bison across the road from what I think was the Elk Flats Ranch Turnout. Bison may be my favorite wildlife.

Another pretty view at Colter Bay. I became enamored with Colter Bay when my family stayed at Colter Bay Village Cabins when I was 17 years old. I still feel the same way…
Next stop was Jackson Lake Lodge to see the much discussed windows. I also took a walk down to a trail that had great views.

This picture is a complete mystery since I can’t figure out where it was taken. But all images are posted in order taken, so this is where it goes… Another gorgeous view of the Tetons.

And I was lucky enough to see a moose cow and calf. I loved it! They were resting in the shade (around 2 in the afternoon) and then they both got up to eat.

On the way home at the end of a long day I didn’t expect to be stopped so a bunch of folks on horseback could cross in front of me.
