Dogs on first trip to ocean

My friend Don wanted backup on his first outing with his newly acquired motor home and allowed me to bring Nikki and Ellie along to Galveston for a long weekend.

Let me put it this way — my dogs were not afraid of the ocean. They got dunked by the first wave and that never happened again. After one dunking they learned to power themselves up and over oncoming waves with their front legs to keep their heads out of the water.

They were running around with such joyous reckless abandon they had all the humans on the beach laughing out loud.

It was all good… right up until we found out what drinking salt water does to dogs. They came home with really thoroughly cleaned out systems…
