Cadillac Sunrise for My Birthday!

After arriving in April when it was too cold to do sunrise on Cadillac and then waiting for the mobs of people to subside, I decided doing sunrise on Cadillac Mountain was the perfect way to start my birthday in October. The crowds would be less so parking would be easier. Wrong. I arrived an hour before sunrise and the parking lot was full. I turned to go back to the Blue Hill Overlook to park and hike back up and visitors had parked on both sides of the 2 lane road. With many cars still arriving it was liking a salmon fighting its way upstream to make it back to Blue Hill. It was unbelievable. 

I fortunately had asked where I more private place was to view the sunrise and watched it coming up with only 5 other people around me. I took pictures of the parking lot and mob so you can see. 

Lesson learned: get there 1 and 1/2 hours early and BE A GOOD VISITOR and do not park along the road where parking is illegal. This is why Law Enforcement ends up closing the mountain.
